CAREC participated in press conference of NANNOUz
On November 1, 2017, CAREC’s Branch in Uzbekistan participated in the press-conference dedicated to the National association of non-governmental non-profit organizations of Uzbekistan (NANNOUz) and its role in development and implementation of Action Strategy for 2017-2021.
The event was attended by CAREC representatives, members of the Association, Chamber of Advocates, international organizations, NGOs, professional unions, and journalists.
During press conference participants discussed the activities of NANNOUz in different spheres. It was highlighted that NANNOUz together with other NGOs implemented various environmental projects. For example, Ecological Forum of Uzbekistan, a member of NANNOUz, created a special field in Jizzakh region to give practical education to farmers on drip irrigation, its efficiency and effective use of renewable energy sources.
It should be noted that the adoption of the Action Strategy provided a considerable boost in improvement of all spheres of socio-political and socio-economic development of Uzbekistan. Special attention in the Strategy is paid to the development of the "third sector" which includes the entire range of non-profit, non-governmental, public organizations in the country.
