Within the framework of the Tajikistan Resilient Landscapes Restoration Project, landscaping and greening activities are being actively implemented in the “Barakat” Garden, located in the village of Pokhut, Ayni District. The garden covers a total area of 56 hectares and is classified as part of the National Forest Fund.
The site has been identified as a strategic area for tree and shrub planting, ecosystem restoration, and the establishment of a recreational space for local communities. Current interventions include the excavation of planting pits, the construction of access roads for technical equipment, and the installation of an irrigation water supply system to ensure the sustainable maintenance and survival of planted vegetation.
The project implementation contributes not only to greening efforts but also to the restoration of ecological balance, the prevention of land degradation, and the conservation of local biodiversity, including flora and fauna. In addition, the development of a well-managed garden is expected to enhance the quality of life of the local population, provide recreational opportunities, and support the development of ecotourism in the district.
The Tajikistan Resilient Landscapes Restoration Project is implemented as part of a broader national program aimed at forest conservation and the rehabilitation of degraded lands. Activities carried out in the “Barakat” Garden demonstrate a successful integration of environmental objectives with tangible social and economic benefits for local communities.
