Avian influenza, particularly Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), is an increasing threat at the intersection of wildlife conservation, animal health, food systems, and public health. As the countries of Central Asia continue to develop national One Health strategies and strengthen preparedness for emerging health threats, practical knowledge and multisectoral collaboration have become more important than ever.

During the webinar, regional and international experts will discuss::

  • migratory bird flyways, epidemiological surveillance, and identification of high-risk areas;

  • practical approaches to sample collection and the safe handling of dead wild birds;

  • laboratory diagnostics, biosafety, and specimen transportation;

  • the integration of epidemiological surveillance data, biosecurity measures, and risk management in poultry production;

  • the role of vaccination in strengthening preparedness for HPAI;

  • practical aspects of equipment selection, procurement, preparation of technical specifications, and integration of avian influenza surveillance into national One Health action plans.

The webinar is intended for representatives and technical specialists working in public health, veterinary services, agriculture, environmental protection and wildlife conservation, emergency preparedness and response, laboratory diagnostics, academia, and other relevant sectors across Central Asia.

Following registration, participants will receive detailed instructions on how to join the webinar.

We would appreciate it if you could share this invitation with interested colleagues, experts, and partners within your organizations and professional networks.
