From 26 to 28 August in Khujand (Tajikistan) a three-day training for new consultants was held within the REAP project funded by the EU SWITCH-Asia program. The training was organized within the project cell established on the basis of Neksigol company.
The training included both theoretical and practical components providing a comprehensive understanding of resource efficiency and cleaner production (RECP).
Senior technical experts Stefan Melnitzky and Mihir Sharma led the theoretical sessions, introducing participants to key concepts in sustainable production and consumption (SCP). They explained what RECP is, the importance of SCP practices, and the necessary documentation to implement these practices in production settings. Additionally, the training covered various methods for conducting measurements at enterprises, the instruments required, and the correct procedures for performing these tasks.
As part of the practical part, the consultants visited Ortex LLC, a textile manufacturing company. Here, senior technical experts demonstrated the correct methods of measurement in real-life conditions, highlighting the most important aspects to pay attention to when working in companies.
This training provided the new consultants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support the implementation of of resource efficiency and cleaner production methods in their future work.
The REAP project is implemented by an international consortium under financial support of the European Union. The consortium comprises the National Association of Small and Medium Businesses of Tajikistan (NAMSB), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIUz), the German Consulting Office adelphi, the Association for the Promotion of Recycling and Environmental Protection in Austria (AREC), STENUM Asia Sustainable Development Society (STENUM Asia), and the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). The consortium is led by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
