Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) presented its work to address air pollution and promoting the environmental cooperation in the Central Asian region during the 7th session of the Committee on Environment and Development held in Thailand from 29 November - 1 December 2022.
CAREC Executive Assistant Arailym Shulgauova presented CAREC at the KNOWLEDGE SHARING AND REPLICATION WORKSHOP: URBAN INSIGHTS AND REGIONAL COOPERATION TO REDUCE AIR POLLUTION, held in at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok, Thailand.
This regional knowledge sharing and replication workshop was focused on working with member States and/or cities on ways and means to adapt and apply the methodology for city level action plans, and prepare the way forward including identifying priorities for a city-to-city knowledge exchange programme in the region.
The workshop engaged representatives of member States of UNESCAP (central/local), UN agencies to further disseminate findings. This workshop encouraged the governments, UN and intergovernmental agencies to nominate qualified women officials as their representatives.
