On April 23 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) and May 3 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), the REAP project will hold a National Authorities Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Policy Solutions.
The event will bring together policymakers from various national authorities in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. They will thoroughly discuss the current landscape of SCP policies within Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, highlighting the experiences gained through the REAP project's engagement with Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs).
The workshop will feature presentation of REAP project approach and work with MSMEs on SCP implementation, showcasing successful case studies and lessons learned from implementing SCP practices with MSMEs.
Additionally, the REAP project team will share the insights and outcomes derived from the National Policy Roundtable conducted earlier, focusing on strengthening SCP integration within MSME operations.
Objectives:
• Facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the current SCP policy landscape in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan among attending national authorities.
• Showcase successful case studies and experiences from the REAP project in working with MSMEs to implement SCP practices.
• Present the outcomes and insights from the National Policy Roundtable on SCP uptake within MSME operations.
• Foster discussions on adaptation strategies and identify key success factors for effective SCP policy solutions (prototypes).
The REAP project is implemented by an international consortium under financial support of the European Union. The consortium comprises the National Association of Small and Medium Businesses of Tajikistan (NAMSB), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIUz), the German Consulting Office adelphi, the Association for the Promotion of Recycling and Environmental Protection in Austria (AREC), STENUM Asia Sustainable Development Society (STENUM Asia), and the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). The consortium is led by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
