The annual " Resource Efficiency In Agri-Food Production And Processing" (REAP) project partners' meeting was held on 29 January - 1 February 2024 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by 13 participants from partner organisations: National Association of Small and Medium Businesses of Tajikistan ( NASMB), Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan ("CCIU"), German consultancy adelphi, Association for the Promotion of Recycling and Environmental Protection in Austria ("AREC"), STENUM Asia Society for Sustainable Development ("STENUM Asia"), The Energy and Resources Institute ("TERI").
As noted, this is the last significant meeting before the end of the project.
During the intensive sessions, the project partners developed a work plan to the end of the project and outlined specific goals to be achieved. Special attention was given to the discussion of a film that will illustrate the achievements of the REAP project.
On the last day of the meeting the technical consultants of the project were invited. In the first half of the day, the difficulties faced by the project's technical consultants were discussed, the group discussion provided options for solving the difficulties encountered, and a detailed work plan was drawn up for the successful completion of the project. The second half of the day was dedicated to experience exchange between the consultants from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. During this session, the consultants discussed the difficulties they had encountered and ways of solving problems.
The REAP project is implemented by an international consortium (with financial support from the European Union) consisting of: the National Association of Small and Medium Businesses of Tajikistan (NAMSB), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIUz), the German Consulting Office adelphi, the Association for the Promotion of Recycling and Environmental Protection in Austria (AREC), STENUM Asia Sustainable Development Society (STENUM Asia), and the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). The consortium is led by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
