The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia opens registration for the 14th Central Asian Leadership Programme (CALP) on Environment for Sustainable Development. Registration will run from 24 June to 21 July. To register, please go to https://calp.carececo.org/
The programme invites young professionals from civil society organisations, governmental organisations and academia from the five Central Asian countries to participate.
The 14th CALP will take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 9 to 13 September. The programme is organised in co-operation with the Swiss initiative Blue Peace Central Asia, the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, and The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The programme will be mainly focused on glacial horizons and climate sensitive mountains disaster risk management, promotion of connectivity of Central Asian youth by providing a neutral regional youth dialogue platform for discussing water cooperation, water diplomacy, gender equality, climate change, energy efficiency, gender, the NEXUS approach and other development issues between governments, academia, civil society, as well as strengthening and highlighting their role and voice in the regional cooperation.
The overarching goal of the 14th CALP is to empower and inspire young professionals from in Central Asia to become influential leaders in the field of environmental change. By providing them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and networks, CALP aims to cultivate a new generation of change-makers to address climate change challenges, disaster risk management, and foster regional collaboration for a resilient and environmentally conscious future in Central Asia.
Participation in the programme is free of charge. The selection is competitive and for government officials through nominations. All expenses related to participation in the 14th CALP are covered by the organisers.
