Knowledge management and the development of the digital infrastructure under the RESILAND CA+ Program were among the key topics discussed by participants of the Regional Dialogue in Bishkek. The proposed concept aims to establish a unified regional knowledge-sharing ecosystem for sustainable landscape management and climate change adaptation.
The knowledge management system will consolidate the results of national projects, ensure their long-term preservation, facilitate the dissemination of good practices, and provide stakeholders with access to up-to-date information. This approach is expected to enhance project implementation, strengthen regional cooperation, and support evidence-based decision-making.
«The main idea behind the program is to create a single portal that provides easy access to information and resources from different countries and across various thematic areas. Through a unified search system, users will be able to quickly find the information they need, bringing together knowledge generated across different countries», said Dr. Panagiotis Zervas, Chief Operating Officer of SciO.
A key component of the digital infrastructure will be the RESILAND CA+ Portal, which will integrate the regional online database, a catalogue of digital resources, country pages, publications, news, events, and analytical tools. Particular attention is being given to content quality, open access to information, a multilingual interface, integration with monitoring systems, and long-term technical support, helping to create a unified information space for the countries of Central Asia.
From June 24 to 26, representatives of Central Asian countries met in Bishkek to discuss joint solutions for reducing mudflow and flood risks, strengthening natural hazard monitoring systems, and enhancing regional cooperation in the context of climate change.
The Regional Dialogue, “Harmonizing Policies, Developing a Roadmap and Digital Tools for Coordinated Joint Efforts,” was held under the Central Asia Resilient Landscapes Restoration Program (RESILAND CA+), supported by the World Bank. The event was organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic in partnership with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
