At the Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2026), on April 23, 2026, Session 3.1. “Workforce Development and Research Cooperation to Advance Renewable Energy in Central Asia” will take place at the Hilton Astana Hotel (first floor, hall “Irtysh”).
The session will be held in a panel discussion format with introductory presentations.
The session is focusing on the practical enablers required to scale up renewable energy as a cornerstone of climate resilience and energy security.
Accelerating the deployment of solar and wind technologies can reduce exposure to climate-induced hydrological variability, diversify power systems beyond climate-sensitive generation, and enhance the reliability of energy supply for households, critical services, and productive sectors.
The session responds to a growing regional need to develop the human capital and innovation base required for renewable energy expansion.
The session organized in joint collaboration of the OSCE-CAREC Initiative “Regional Task Force on Education for a Just and Inclusive Energy Transition (RTEET) in Central Asia” (part of the OSCE project “Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Energy Sector in Central Asia”), the Regional GIZ Project “Green Skills for a Green Economy in Central Asia (PROGRESS)”, and Regional EU-GIZ Programme “EU4SustainableCentralAsia: Renewable Energy in Central Asia (EURECA)”.
Recall, CACCC-2026 will take place within the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana, April 22-24, 2026.
