REAP: Cleantech Finance workshop for Financial Institutions (One-to-One consultation to Banks)

On 4 July 2023, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIU) held a workshop on " Cleantech Finance for Financial Institutions" in the form of individual consultations for banks. 

The seminar was organised jointly with German research company adelphi Research gGmbH under the project "Resource Efficiency in Agricultural Production and Processing (REAP)" funded by the European Union's SWITCH Asia. programme and implemented by the Regional Environmental Centre of Central Asia.

 The workshop was conducted by Amar Munnolimath, Senior Manager of adelphi Research gGmbH (Germany). He acted as the main consultant and expert on financing of environmentally friendly technologies.

This workshop was a follow-up to the workshop held on 2 December 2022, which was aimed at educating financial institutions on clean technology finance. Participants in the December workshop were interested in practical tools to develop prototypes of clean technology finance products.

The July workshop this year was attended by specialists from Qishloq qurilish bank (QQB), Agrobank and O'zsanoatqurilishbank (SQB), which are active in green finance.

     

The training covered the topics:

·       Understanding existing MSME finance products

·       Best practices/cases of Cleantech Finance products

·       Cleantech Finance Actor Landscape

·       Cleantech Finance Instrument Prototyping

During the workshop, participants prepared a prototype of a cleantech finance product for the case study and presented it.

The participants appreciated the event and noted that this training increased their knowledge about cleantech finance in general, as well as practical tools for developing prototypes of cleantech finance products.
