The Regional Climate Action Transparency Hub for Central Asia (ReCATH) in partnership with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan is organizing an event at the Conference of the Parties 29 (COP 29 UNFCCC) on “Enhancing Transparency of Climate Action in Central Asia: Lessons, Needs and Future Directions”. This event is relevant for experts, policy makers and representatives of international development institutions.
The meeting will present the work of the ReCATH Regional Hub in supporting Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan - in strengthening their climate transparency frameworks and capacity building in greenhouse gas inventories, projections and climate change adaptation, and climate finance. The meeting will review the needs for transparency of climate action in Central Asia, as well as ReCATH's future plans, including the development of climate finance for Central Asia. By sharing successes, challenges and solutions, the event strengthens regional cooperation, aligning Central Asia's climate goals with global efforts. The work of the ReCATH Regional Hub in supporting the Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in strengthening their climate transparency frameworks will also be presented.
