CEP RT and CAREC discuss Next Steps in “Green” Cooperation RESILAND TJ

2 September – Dushanbe, Tajikistan – Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan (CEP RT) Bahodur Sheralizoda and Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) Batyr Mammedov discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation


At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman of the CEP RT Bahodur Sheralizoda congratulated Batyr Mammedov on his appointment as Executive Director of CAREC and wished him success in his new role.

During the discussions, the parties emphasized the importance of aligning “green” projects with the national priorities of the Central Asian countries, while also ensuring effective regional coordination.

It was noted that CAREC is already implementing several significant projects with the support of the World Bank, including RESILAND CA+, One Health, and Blue Peace, all of which include national components aimed at supporting Tajikistan. Furthermore, cooperation with universities and technical partners in the Republic of Tajikistan is expanding.

Both sides confirmed their commitment to further strengthening partnerships in the implementation of regional initiatives at the national level. Thus, preparations are currently underway for a regional event within the framework of the One Health project and CALP. Special attention was also given to the organization of the next Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC).

Another key topic of the meeting was the attraction of “green” investments to promote sustainable development in both the Republic of Tajikistan and the entire Central Asian region.
