Publication date: 23 February 2026

On February 23, special and engineering equipment was officially handed over to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic. The ceremony took place in Old Square of Bishkek and was attended by Adylbek Kasymaliyev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Head of the Presidential Administration, and Urmatbek Shamyrykanov, Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General.

Most of the equipment (73 units) was purchased with funds allocated by the World Bank as part of the Sustainable Landscape Restoration in the Kyrgyz Republic project, RESILAND CA+ (KG RESILAND) program.

The fleet of the Ministry of Emergency Situation has been replenished with excavators, bulldozers, truck cranes, trucks, and special vehicles.

The transferred vehicles will enhance the agency's capacity to respond quickly to emergencies, conduct engineering and restoration work, and also help mitigate the risks of mudslides and landslides, and promote sustainable landscape restoration throughout the country.

The Kyrgyz Republic Resilient Landscape Restoration Project is part of the World Bank’s RESILAND CA+ program, aimed at strengthening landscape resilience across Central Asian countries. Similar national and regional activities are also being implemented in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) implements the regional component of the Kyrgyz Republic Resilient Landscape Restoration Project.
