Project “Strengthening capacities of water management organizations in basin planning in Uzbekistan” is implemented by CAREC within Component 1 (National policy framework for water governance and integrated water resources management and supply part) which is a part of the EU programme “Sustainable Management of Water Resources in rural areas in Uzbekistan”

The primary aim of this project is to support river basin planning in the Republic of Uzbekistan in the example of two pilot rivers Shakhrihansay in Andijan province and Aksuv in Kashkadarya province.

  • To achieve the aim, following tasks are set   

  • conducting series of trainings on IWRM and basin planning, 

  • development and agreeing the measures of basin plans, 

  • making thematic inputs into the national academic seminar on IWRM, 

  • preparation of texts of basin plans of pilot rivers.

Working groups established in each pilot territory, tha are comprised of various governmental and non-governmental organizations
