Bishkek – Kyrgyzstan – the Branch of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) in Kyrgyzstan signed A Memorandum of Cooperation with the Research Institute of Economics at the National Research University "KEU named after M. Ryskulbekov" and the Branch of the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) in the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the Director of the CAREC Branch Kuban Matraimov, the agreement is aimed at strengthening partnerships in the field of scientific research and analytical activities, as well as developing intersectoral cooperation on issues of sustainable development, green economy and environmental sustainability.
The document was signed by the director of the Research Institute of Economics, Batyrkul Baetov and Director of the CAREC Branch in the Kyrgyz Republic Kuban Matraimov.
"We live in a time when science should actively participate in the formation of sustainable state policy. The signed Memorandum is an opportunity to combine our scientific potential with the practical knowledge of the environmental center and work together on the tasks facing Kyrgyzstan," Batyrkul Baetov highlighted the importance of the Memorandum.
"Cooperation with the academic community is an important step in solving environmental problems. We believe that thanks to this cooperation, it will be possible to build strong scientific and analytical mechanisms that will support the sustainable development of the country," Kuban Matraimov noted.
Within the framework of the signed agreement, the parties intend to:
- implement joint scientific and analytical research in priority sectors of the economy, ecology, water and agriculture;
- develop practical recommendations for decision-making at the national level;
- conduct interdisciplinary events, including scientific conferences, seminars, and round tables;
- exchange experiences, information and technical resources;
- to strengthen the potential of domestic researchers and educational institutions.
Both sides expressed confidence that this partnership will serve as an impetus for the development of concrete solutions in the areas of green economy, adaptation to climate change, agricultural modernization and environmentally oriented management.
The memorandum comes into force from the moment of signing and provides for the possibility of concluding separate agreements and contracts on specific projects and areas.
