Side-event of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) and REC Caucasus "Education for Sustainable Development and its role in promoting Regional platforms for Greening the Economies of Central Asia and the Caucasus"

From 5 to 7 October 2022, Republic of Cyprus, will host the Ninth “Environment for Europe” Ministerial Conference under the slogan “Transforming the Planet” in its capital Nicosia. (https://nicosiaefe.gov.cy/).
The main thematic focuses of the Conference will be: "Greening" the economy in the pan-European region: working on the creation of sustainable infrastructure; application of circular economy principles to sustainable tourism and education for sustainable development (ESD).
About 1,000 participants from Ministries of Environment and Education of over 70 countries, including members of the public, international, regional, non-governmental organizations and the private sector are expected to attend the conference.
High-level events will be held as part of the Conference agenda, including the Third High-Level Meeting of Ministers of Environment and Education on ESD on October 5, bilateral meetings, and side events.
CAREC in cooperation with the REC of the Caucasus and the Central Asian countries is planning to hold a side event "Education for Sustainable Development and its role in promoting regional platforms for greening the economies of Central Asia and the Caucasus" at the venues of the Conference.
Delegations from the Central Asian countries and the Caucasus including partner organizations will be invited to speak and present regional platforms and initiatives on the green economy of Central Asia and the Caucasus, ESD, leadership, as well as the Central Asian Information Portal (CACIP) https://ca-climate.org/rus/cacip.php.
The side-event will be held on the 5th October from 18:15 to 20:15.
